How are we Financed

“EEESafe is funded entirely through stakeholder participation, not investors or shareholders. Each of our 14 stakeholder groups — from repairers to retailers and councils — contributes a small annual fee that fuels local circular economies and micro-grants for citizens.” “This self-sustaining model means we operate without public funding, external control, or financial extraction. Every pound circulates within communities to create visible social and environmental impact.”

How does it Work

“Every appliance registered in our Appliance Safety Register becomes part of a verified digital ecosystem. Certified Repairers record test readings, safety checks, and repair history, creating a unique ‘Digital Twin’ for each product.” “Citizens can then buy, sell, or donate those items safely through the LocalitEEE Marketplace. The system tracks carbon, materials, and safety metrics in real time — all linked to the community where the item originated.”

1. Citizen or business registers an appliance.
2. Certified Repairer completes and records the repair.
3. Digital Twin captures safety & repair data.
4. Marketplace sale or donation updates local metrics.

How to Report Recalls

“Through the Appliance Safety Register, citizens can instantly check if their appliances are subject to a recall or alert. If an appliance is recalled, it cannot be sold or donated through the Marketplace, and registered owners are automatically notified.” “You can also report a suspected product recall or unsafe item to EEESafe. Our system works with national recall data to identify issues early and prevent unsafe products from circulating.”

How to Influence Change

“EEESafe and LocalitEEE are designed to give citizens and stakeholders a real voice. Every repair, sale, and registration contributes data that helps shape UK environmental and safety policy.” “Our metrics feed directly into national systems informing Defra and the Treasury on waste prevention, resource use, and community benefit. By engaging with EEESafe, you are part of measurable, citizen-led policy change.”

How We Sustain Ourselves

EEESafe is built to stand on its own — independent of investors, public grants, or shareholder expectations.
Instead, our sustainability comes from a simple principle:
every participant who benefits from the model helps to maintain it.

Through small annual Stakeholder Fees, contributions from certified repairers, marketplace gateway fees, and development fees linked to completed repairs, we generate a steady flow of income that never leaves the community ecosystem.

This approach keeps EEESafe free from external control and ensures that the value created by citizens, repairers, and local businesses stays where it belongs — supporting the same communities that create it.

Because we are Not for Greed, surplus income isn’t extracted.
It is recycled into platform growth, safety improvements, community micro-grants, and the development of new tools that strengthen local circular economies across the UK.

Our Sustainability Principles:
  • Independent, community-driven funding
  • No shareholders, no external investors
  • Surplus value reinvested into communities
  • Simple, transparent fee structure
  • Growth linked to repair activity, not consumption
